Affordable online depression program
Recently, I was fascinated to learn about THIS WAY UP – an online e-health learning platform built in Australia by Australian psychiatrists, health care workers and researchers. The platform is run by the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD) – a joint facility of St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of New South Wales.
The platform delivers short online (6-session) education programs on a range of mental health issues – from Anxiety and Depression to Student Wellbeing.
In these times of increasing stress and struggling mental health services, there’s a growing gap that really needs filling. And while not a complete solution, reports indicate it is useful.
At $59 the various evidence-based programs – based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – are quite affordable (and can be FREE with a prescription from your GP).
Naturopathic medicine – which applies time-tested herbal remedies and supplements combined with modern gut-health knowledge – can also assist in dealing with mental health and wellbeing issues. It comes with the added benefit of improving your overall health and wellbeing. These approaches are now being adopted into conventional medicine under terms like nutritional psychiatry.
If you’re looking for long-term, whole-person health support, then get in touch today to book a consult.
However, it’s also important to understand how better managing your thinking can also make a big difference – and exploring THIS WAY UP may be a great first step.
